PBA hit the road and headed to Cagayan de Oro for the matchup between San Miguel Beer and NLEX.
The Beermen gained solo possession of first place with a 4-1 record, defeating the Road Warriors, 106-80, on Saturday.
Alex Cabagnot’s 18 points led the way for SMB, which got its third straight victory. Reigning MVP Junemar Fajardo registered 15 points and 12 boards.
The Beermen waxed hot from the floor to open the game. They established a 31-19 advantage over NLEX at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.
By the start of the payoff period, SMB was already up by 29 points.
San Miguel limited NLEX to just 34% shooting from the field, 18% from downtown.
Kevin Alas, Jonas Villanueva and Bradwyn Guinto each scored 12 points apiece for the Road Warriors, who slid down to 1-4 in the league standings.
