During halftime of the Lakers’ win against the Grizzlies, a Filipino named Jerald Acoba from Tulare, California made a half-court shot to win the Big Shot Jackpot of $95,000.
That’s roughly equivalent to P4,750,000.
After making the incredible shot, Acoba imitated D’Angelo Russell’s “ice in my veins” celebration before high-fiving Russell, Julius Randle, Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson.
Asked what he would do with the money, Acoba said he’d buy his mom a new car.
“She’s always been there for me when I need her,” he said in a report on Lakers.com. “She’s always there to help me out. It’s my turn to repay the favor to her.”
