Saturday’s stud
Arwind Santos (SMB): 31 points, 5-of-9 3s, 10 rebounds, 2 assists
Santos exploded in this game, knocking down five triples en route to 31 points. It was his highest point total since he set a career-high 34 points in the 2012 Commissioner’s Cup against Rain or Shine.
Honorable mention: June Mar Fajardo (19 points, 15 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks)
Wednesday’s dud
GlobalPort’s (in)ability to score off turnovers
The Batang Pier forced SMB to 12 turnovers but only translated those into 6 points. GlobalPort committed 15 turnovers which resulted into 20 points for the Beermen. That was difference-maker right there.
What’s in a number?
45 — Despite shooting woes, Terrence Romeo finished with 16 points. According to PBA head statistician Fidel Mangonon, Romeo has now scored at least 10 points in 45 straight games.
