The NBA 2K League is a professional esports league co-founded by the NBA and Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc.

On Tuesday, the official logo of the NBA 2K League was revealed.

The NBA 2K League logo incorporates the colors and shape of the NBA logo and the font of the NBA 2K logo. Absent is a human silhouette, which speaks to the inclusive nature of the league and the opportunity for any type of player to try out – young or old, male or female, based domestically or abroad.

A basketball was selected as the centerpiece of the design as it represents the common thread between all NBA 2K players.

The logos of the 17 teams will be unveiled later this week.

Launching in 2018, the league will feature the best NBA 2K players in the world. Each of the league’s 17 teams will draft gamers to compete as unique characters in 5-on-5 play against the other teams in a mix of regular-season games, tournaments and playoffs.

The league will host tryouts in early 2018, followed by a draft in March and the season tip-off in May.

Polaroid continues to stay relevant in the photography industry by upgrading its products using modern technology. An example of this is the Polaroid Snap Touch.

The Polaroid Snap Touch is an instant digital camera that lets you print your photos whenever you want, similar to its predecessor – the Polaroid Snap. The main differences between the two? The Polaroid Snap Touch, which retails for P10,990, has a better camera (13 megapixel), has image stabilization, can record HD videos and can serve as a mobile printer. The most glaring upgrade is the 3.5” touchscreen LCD which gives users the freedom to view/edit photos on the go.

Here’s a short unboxing video of the Polaroid Snap Touch:

In the last five years, we have seen the dramatic rise of the influence of social media and blogging all over the world. From training their sights solely on celebrities, brands have shifted their attention to influencers and bloggers to market their brand and their products.

Here in the Philippines, apart from being a medium of creative self-expression for many Filipinos, blogging has become an effective tool in communicating—from promoting the Philippines and what the country has to offer, to influencing and shaping opinions about particular issues and society in general.

With this in mind, Filipino technology company SnippetMEdia, creator of the mobile app of the same name, has decided to take blogging a step further by creating a new platform to cater exclusively to bloggers and independent content creators—SnippetX.

SnippetX is a new platform in SnippetMEdia that brings a whole new dimension to news aggregation by providing unique access to stories written by local and international content creators on topics users are most interested in.

“Whether it’s about travel, fashion, food or technology, Filipinos will now have access to a multitude of stories written by Pinoy bloggers all in one click,” Kitson Kho, founder and chairman of SnippetMEdia said.

So how does SnippetX work?

Kho likened SnippetX to a hub, where content from bloggers and freelance writers can be accessed by readers through the app. With SnippetX, online content creators can maximize the impact of their stories and keep readers engaged with the stories they want to see and follow.

“People are on their smartphones for a good number of hours every day. Being in a mobile app opens opportunities to reach a more captive and responsive audience through targeting and better recommended stories,” he explained.

“SnippetMEdia makes reading and discovering online content easier by saving the users the time and effort in finding what they want to read among a multitude of sources,” stressed Kho. “And now with SnippetX, SnippetMEdia brings a whole new dimension to news aggregation by providing unique access to stories written by Filipino online content creators on topics users are most interested in.”

Metta World Peace isn’t fond of Snapchat and Instagram Stories

Gadgets, Sports

One of the most interesting and colorful individuals in the NBA has got to be Metta World Peace — the artist formerly known as Ron Artest.

In the Tissot 24-second segment in one of the Lakers’ official Instagram post, MWP answered a few questions and gave his personal preferences on a few things.

One of those questions was choosing between Snapchat or Instagram Stories. Here’s what he had to say in true MWP fashion.

“I don’t like either one of them. They both get on my nerves.”

Not sure if Metta has a Snapchat account, but he does have an Instagram account (@mettaworldpeace37) which he mostly uses to promote his The Panda’s Friend brand.

MWP did have something going on SnapChat sometime after he broke the internet with his “I love basketball” mantra, quickly becoming a Snapchat filter on the Lakers’ account.

By the way, MWP had an awesome moment in the Lakers’ blowout win over the Knicks. He checked in late in the game and made a stepback jumper against Carmelo Anthony, prompting MVP chants from the MSG crowd.
