The Phenom has decided to turn pro.
Amateur star Kiefer Ravena has declared himself eligible for the 2017 PBA Rookie Draft, making the announcement through his personal Twitter account on Monday.
Ravena is projected to be a top pick in the upcoming draft, which will be held on October 29, along with fellow national team members Fil-German Christian Standhardinger and Raymar Jose.
Rounding out the projected top five picks are former La Salle stars Jeron Teng, who also announced his intentions the same day as Ravena, and Jason Perkins, who has been successful in the PBA D-League with the Cignal HD Spikers.
The 23-year-old Ravena served for Gilas Pilipinas in numerous international tournaments. He won gold medals donning the country’s colors in the 2015 SEABA Championship and in the 2015 and 2017 editions of the Southeast Asian Games.
Just recently, Ravena led Chooks To Go Pilipinas to a fifth place finish in the FIBA Asia Champions Cup with averages of 20.6 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
Ravena became a household name during his five years with Ateneo in the UAAP. As a member of the Blue Eagles, he averaged 16.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. He is a two-time UAAP champion and two-time league MVP.
Ravena also has some sort of experience at the NBA level, having signed a contract last year in the NBA D-League, now referred to as the G-League, with the Texas Legends.
The deadline of application for the PBA draft is on Thursday.
